18th annual Ken Montgomery Invitational Track Meet by William E. Smigo

Posted by Chrissy Bonaccorsi on
A nice post by William Tennent Alumni William E. Smigo:
“Yesterday Ed Woolcock and I got together at the 18th annual Ken Montgomery Invitational Track Meet at WTHS. For the 2nd year we helped out on the field getting the girl and boy runners set up for their respective races.
It was refreshing to see all these young athletes compete…..brings back memories.
As I was talking to one hurdler I mentioned that I ran for WTHS back in 1964. Afterwords I realized that me saying I ran in 1964 would be like an old man approaching me in 1964 and telling me that he ran in 1914…..puts it all in perspective.
Attached is a photo of Ed Woolcock, Chick Donnelly and myself.
After the meet Ed and I paid a visit to Vince Miernicki and chatted about the old days. We were going to do a selfie but Vince kept making those duck faces!”
